I’ve been a Personal Trainer for over 4 years but my history with fitness and training is much longer.
I started Kickboxing at 8 years old and continued this into my early 20s. But it was in my late teens when I started going to the gym – despite having no idea what I was doing! I joined a CrossFit gym in 2011 and continued to train and compete in CrossFit competitions for a few years and even competed in a couple of Triathlons. Then I decided to try and get strong with some powerlifting. It was while powerlifting that I completed my Personal Training qualifications and then I started my coaching qualifications. I coached a strong group of women who all broke English powerlifting records; and I even I competed in the same powerlifting competition. It was through CrossFit that I fell in love with and changed my dedication as an athlete to Olympic Weightlifting. I find it fun to train and compete and find it exceedingly rewarding to coach.
In 2019 I coached an athlete through to qualify at the European Masters Olympic Weightlifting competition in Finland where she won a silver medal for Great Britain; next time we have our sights set on bringing home the gold!
Fitness is my passion. I enjoy the challenge of working towards and breaking my personal goals and I always have an event I am working towards. I’ve competed in Triathlons, CrossFit, Powerlifting, Weightlifting and Kickboxing Competitions so I understand how to prepare mentally and physically for a competition. I regularly take Jujitsu classes and when I have time, I do rock climbing and bouldering. I love to try new sports and in the last 2 years I have tried yoga, horse riding, sand boarding, aerial hoop, coasteering and scuba diving. But when I am not in the gym you will find me walking my dog or at a live music gig – I am a self-confessed metalhead.
